Some of you may have noticed that the far East section, N-14, looks a little different from the rest of the cemetery. The grass in this section is a scientifically engineered hybrid grass called Tahoma 31. Tahoma 31 is a drought resistant, cold tolerant, and low water usage grass. During winter months, the grass becomes dormant. It will start to green once night time temperatures are consistently 60 degrees or higher for at least a week. Spring in Colorado brings with it temperature fluctuations and we have not yet reached evening temps of at least 60 degrees. Once we start warming up and have more consistently warm temperatures, the Tahoma 31 will no longer be dormant and will turn a beautiful green that matches the rest of the cemetery.
